Programs

You and your child can choose from a wide variety of supervised activities including:

Archery:

Have the chance to be Robin Hood. Learn how to hold, knock, and let the arrow fly. Try your hand at one of the earliest forms of hunting.

Canoeing:

Find yourself paddling along the shores of Sandy Beach Lake (adjacent to the camp). Bring together knowledge and skill as you learn the parts of the canoe as well as proper paddling techniques. Have fun as you enjoy water games and races.

Horse Riding:

For kids who enjoy animals and the outdoors, this is the perfect activity. Horse riding is one of our most popular activites as it allows your child the opportunity to enjoy the winding tree filled trails and open grass covered plains while on top of one of our gentle, trained horses.

Kayaking:

This summer kids can try their hands at our newest activity of open-water kayaking. A great challenge for the practiced paddler (will not be available for all ages).

Outdoor Pursuits:

In the land surrounding the camp, your kids can try their hand at using a compass, building a fire, or creating their own tree shelter. They may even have a chance to drink tea they make from plants. For younger kids it's an opportunity for imaginations to run wild as they sneak through the trees practicing camouflage and story-telling. Activites vary with age.

Swimming:

Pleasantview has its own outdoor swimming pool where kids can enjoy playing under the sun, all with the supervision of a certified lifeguard. (lessons not available)

Wall Climbing:

This is an opportunity for kids to test their strength and mind as they attempt to navigate their way up and across our climbing wall. Protected by safety mats, kids can challenge each other, test their speed, and experience the fun of hanging on to the edge.

Wide Games:

These games are a big part of the camp program, which involve both camper and staff. Through the wide games our goal is to provide opportunities for campers to get 'the best' of their counsellors, and make special memories.

Zip-Line:

This activity allows children to experience the exhilaration of leaping off of a 14-foot platform and zip down a 100-meter cable in a mandatory safety harness.

Disc Golf:

Disc golf (also known as frisbee golf or "frolf") is a disc game in which individual players throw a flying disc into a basket or at a target.
